The Gippsland Regional Aboriginal Justice Advisory Committee (RAJAC) acknowledges the traditional owners within the region and pays respects to elders both past and present.

With an Aboriginal population of 4,173 the Gippsland region accounts for approximately 9% of Victoria’s total Aboriginal population.

A RAJAC Executive Officer and Local Aboriginal Justice Action Committee (LAJAC) Project Officer work across the region’s six Local Government Areas: Bass Coast, Baw Baw, East Gippsland, Latrobe, South Gippsland and Wellington.

One prison is located in the Gippsland region: Fulham Correction Centre. Wulgunggo Ngalu Learning Place is located in Yarram. A full range of justice services are offered from Justice Service Centres in Bairnsdale (External link), Sale (External link), Wonthaggi (External link) and Morwell Regional Office (External link).
