Where we are up to

Consumer Affairs Victoria (CAV) established funding for an update to its registration database for Co-operatives and Incorporated Associations. The aim will be to reduce red tape for Aboriginal organisations and allow direct access to CAV systems through the MyCAV portal. This will also facilitate better use of data to plan and assess the effectiveness of CAV’s Aboriginal Risk-based Compliance and Facilitated Assistance Program.

CAV applies a risk-based regulatory and facilitated compliance model to identify Aboriginal organisations that are unable to meet their regulatory and community reporting obligation. CAV will communicate with these organisations and provide assistance and advice to remedy issues and minimise overall community detriment.
